Outcome achieved
The PIFSS have enhanced their transparency using the first actuarial valuation of the Unemployment Insurance Fund as of 31 March 2016, which has been published and endorsed by the PIFSS in April 2019. The ILO report analysed the financial situation of the scheme as well as its legal framework in view to propose relevant reform options and recommendations.
ILO's contribution to the outcome
The ILO conducted the first actuarial valuation of the Unemployment Insurance Fund as of 31 March 2016. For this mandate, the ILO has built an unemployment insurance actuarial model in order to produce the demographic and financial projections related to the scheme. This model was delivered to the PIFSS on 24th June 2019 with a training on the model during the week of 24 June.
