Outcome achieved
The RGC on 8th August 2022 established the Social Security Regulator (SSR) via the Sub Decree on Social Security Regulation under the Non-Banking Financial Service Act to improve oversight of the social security system and all social security operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, accountability and financial sustainability.
ILO's contribution to the outcome
The ILO supported the drafting of the Sub-Decree Social Security Regulation through direct consultations and provided technical inputs into the Sub-Decree. In addition, the ILO supported the capacity building of the Social Security Regulator through technical assistance on the Guidelines on Social Security Fund Investment and Social Security Risk Management Framework to support the SSR in implementing its mandate listed in the sub-decree.
