In February 2014, Jordan ratified the Convention on Social Security (Minimum Standards), No. 102 (1952). Jordan is the first and sole country in the Arab Region that has ratified ILO’s Convention No.102.
ILO's contribution to the outcome
The ILO provided technical guidance over the last couple of biennia to tripartite stakeholders with a view to the ratification of Convention No. 102. In this regard, the ILO carried out an assessment on the compatibility of the Jordanian social security legislation with the Convention and provided assistance in the ratification process.
