Outcome achieved
A National Committee on Social Protection System and its Administration was created in June 2019 to initiate the process toward the development of a cross-sectorial (and inter-ministerial) diagnosis of the social protection system in Thailand.
ILO's contribution to the outcome
ILO and UNICEF were invited to be part of the Committee. ILO as a member of the Committee is providing technical assistance to the definition of the Terms of Reference for this Diagnosis and supporting technically the team in charge of launching this process. ILO will be part of the technical advisory committee. Support will be provided to the development of the Diagnosis through the UN Joint Programmes.
Gender equality & non-discrimination
Increasing in retirement age will contribute to equalize benefits between men and women. The planned social protection diagnosis will include a specific gender impact analysis.
