Tracking Trends on Social Protection and Climate Change in News: A new ILO Social Protection Monitor series

As part of the ILO’s Social Protection Monitor, a tool that tracks announcements of social protection measures around the world through media and press coverage, a new series focused on tracking climate change trends in social protection has been launched. 

This initiative aims to spotlight news on social protection measures taken in response to the climate crisis, in order to highlight trends and concrete country examples that showcase innovative ways to leverage the social protection system to support climate change mitigation, adaptation and loss and damage response objectives. 

Check out the 2023 and 2024 editions of the series. For 2025, the series will be published quarterly.
