Launch of the report Social protection assessment based national dialogue: Towards a nationally defined social protection floor in Thailand
From June 2011 to March 2013 the UN-Royal Thai Government Joint Team on Social Protection engaged line ministries, UN agencies, social partners, civil society organizations, academia and other relevant stakeholders to assess the social protection situation in Thailand, identify policy gaps and implementation issues and draw appropriate policy recommendations for the achievement of a comprehensive social protection floor in Thailand.
The final report will be launched on Friday 10 May 2013 at the government house.
In addition to the Prime Minister the Launching event is expected to be attended by the Minister of Labour Mr. Padermchai Sasomsap, the Minister of Social Development and Human Security Mr. Santi Promphat, the ILO Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific Mr. Yoshiteru Uramoto, and the UN Resident Coordinator Mr. Luc Stevens.
More than 300 guests representing Thai workers’ and employers’ organisations, civil society, academia, embassies and international organizations have also been invited.
