Presentation of October 7, 2009 at the International Institute of Social Studies to students of Erasmus University of Rotterdam.
 
The speaker emphasized the low levels of social protection within developing countries and explained various international strategies to extend social protection coverage - such as subsidized health regime in Colombia, the system of conditional transfers in Brazil, the systems Employment Guarantee in India or social pensions in South Africa.
