Resumen

This ILO report  aimed to offer technical support to the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) in Kenya on strategies to expand social health insurance (SHI) coverage to underserved populations, including those in the informal economy and vulnerable groups. It reviewed Kenya's health system delivery and financing, critically analyzed the NHIF’s design and operations, and identified coverage gaps. The report provided recommendations -based on the findings- to enhance NHIF’s capacity and feasibility for extending SHI.
