Providing adequate social protection for women in the informal sector in Senegal: Key recommendations for a gender-sensitive RSPC
Summary
This policy brief outlines the results of a study that assesses gender mainstreaming in the RSPC (a simplified social security scheme for small contributors) and analyzes the extent to which this initiative meets the needs of women in the informal economy, taking into account their specific constraints. It sets out a series of operational recommendations to make the RSPC a gender-sensitive social protection system that can effectively contribute to the reduction of poverty and inequalities including gender inequalities, to decent work in the informal economy and inclusive economic growth.
